Musings on the Winter Solstice
by Julie E Brent
I have always as long as I can remember loved the Winter Solstice. It is the end of the shortening days and the beginning of longer days. The imagery I like is that we have been walking down the mountain and now begin the journey again to the top…toward the longest day of the year at the Summer Solstice. I put lights out on my porch yesterday…I usually put some out to shine a light for the shortest day of the year. These lights usually stay up until the Spring Equinox, if the bulbs last that long!!
This year the Winter Solstice occurs on Saturday December 21 at 11:11 am CST.
I invite you to join me wherever you are in a meditation that will start at 11:05 and end at 11:15 am CST. ( find the time where you are at this link: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html ) We will focus on receiving the abundance of healing energies available to us.
This time of the year invites stillness and reflection with the long hours of darkness during the month before and after the Winter Solstice. 2013 in the Central time zone USA the Winter Solstice offers a wonderful opportunity as the 11:11 time is a virtual gateway for opening to these healing energies. I just could not pass up the opportunity to create a collective invitation by our joined meditation at that time.
Please wherever you are set your clocks and take 10 minutes to sit quietly and open yourself to this powerful wave of energy available to us all.
Peace and Love to All ❤
